The rhythmic blue neon guide tracks are part of a total work of art, leading visitors through the International Congress Center (ICC) Berlin. In addition, red neon guide tracks formed part of a binary system.

The image Frank Oehring had in mind was a nervous system for the ICC building.The design of the Leitspur was influenced by technical and functional requirements, resulting in a formal language based on fundamental geometric shapes such as the circle, square, rectangle, and triangle.

Frank Oehring, a pioneer of neon art, created intricate light sculptures, including GROSSE LICHTPLASTIK for ICC Berlin. His early works were featured in the ZDF film NEON LICHT KUNST – Objekte, die leuchten (Neon light art, luminous objects) alongside Bruce Nauman and others, as the only European artist.

At the heart of the International Congress Centre (ICC) Berlin, the GROSSE LICHTPLASTIK serves as the artistic centrepiece of this total technical work of art. Frank Oehring referred to it as ‘the brain’—a pure art object symbolising the flow of intellectual activity through the building. It also represents the control centre from which the entire building’s technical infrastructure is managed.

The Lola series is a lighting object, handcrafted in Berlin from high-quality materials such as polished aluminum and mouth-blown glass. With a glass body available in clear transparent, smokey grey, pink, or red these versatile objects are available as both wall and standalone tabletop lamps. Crafting triangular or geometric shapes in mouth-blown glass is uncommon, as the material naturally tends toward rounded forms. To achieve LOLA’s distinctive design, a custom mold was developed. Each LOLA lamp is equipped with a custom-made LED system featuring smooth dimming capabilities. These versatile objects can be used individually as wall or tabletop lamps, or combined to create illuminated patterns.

The wall mounted LOLA LAMP functions as a connectable, modular system, which offers endless variations of clusters. You can expand the LOLA light in any direction, transforming it into a room sculpture.

The LOLA FLOOR LAMP  is equipped with our self-developed LED system, which makes it seamlessly dimmable via touch control through the surface of the aluminium. LOLA can be also controlled separately via smart systems.
